Learn to Skate

The Learn-to-Skate program consists of 3 sessions

New for the 2024 – 2025 season, our popular Learn to Skate program will consist of three 10-week sessions and invites children age 4 and older to learn the basics of ice skating in a safe, introductory setting.

Using engaging activities, our program instructors will introduce participants to forward and backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers and turns with agility, balance, coordination, and speed.

Upon completion of the Learn to Skate program, skaters will have the foundation needed for recreational skating, figure skating or the Woburn Youth Hockey Learn to Play program (City League).

The Learn-to-Skate Program Objective

The Woburn Youth Hockey Learn to Skate will offer classes for beginners to more advanced skaters. The program is run by experienced coaches, who use fun and age-appropriate drills and games to teach skating fundamentals. Children will be divided into small groups based on their skill level to ensure everyone receives proper attention and instruction. Skaters will have the opportunity to earn certificates of achievement at the completion of each 8 week session.

Session 2: November 23 - February 8th 10:30-11:30am & 11:30-12:30
