NEW FOR THE 2019 SEASON - The Learn-to-Skate program will consist of 2 sessions.

SESSION 1 - The Woburn Youth Hockey Learn-to-Skate Beginner level is an introductory class designed with the goal of allowing children aged 4 and above with no prior skating experience or with limited experience requiring the use of a skating aid to build confidence while learning the basic skills of skating. This program will help children develop the ABCs of movement – Agility, Balance, Coordination and speed, which is essential for developing fundamental movement skills and physical literacy.

This program will run for 8 consecutive Saturdays from 9/21/2019 through 11/9/2019 at 10:30am.  Upon successful completion of the Beginner program, the participants will be ready for the Woburn Youth Hockey Basic program.  All classes will be well-structured with the focus on proper skill development and taught in a safe and positive environment, incorporating fun and games making class time an enjoyable experience.

SESSION 2 - The Woburn Youth Hockey Learn-to-Skate Basic level teaches the fundamentals of ice skating and provides a solid foundation for recreational ice skating or hockey.  In this program, participants are introduced to forward and backward skating, stops, edges, crossovers, and turns.  These classes are intended for children aged 4 and above who have completed the Woburn Youth Hockey Beginner level program or who have prior skating experience and do not require the use of a skating aid.  Upon successful completion of the Basic program, the participants will be ready for the Woburn Youth Hockey Mite City League program.
